I’m Gabriel Villarreal, photographer from Cypress, Texas

My name is Gabriel and I am a photographer based in the greater Houston area. I am married to my lovely bride Courtney and we have two kids named Owen and Alexa.

As much as I try to hide it I am a pretty typical guy. I enjoy pizza and wings. Some of my favorite things to do are watch and talk about movies, sit around and talk with friends, try new foods, and I love to read. Also I really love basketball. (Go Rockets!)

Forgetfulness seems like it’s a recurring theme in my life. Truthfully we can all be a little forgetful. I often take for granted the season and time of life I am in. That is why I love photography, being able to freeze time, the moment and have that memory with you wherever you go. Recalling something in your mind is great but being able to see it really changes everything. Taking those moments and putting them in a photograph is what gets me excited. From telling stories to taking portraits, I want to help you (and myself) remember life.

One Year: Fujifilm X100s

I had been looking at this camera for almost a year before I decided to take the leap and explore what the hipster culture of Fujifilm had to offer. For months I had heard about this camera and it was intriguing to me that I could put all of my heavy Canon gear aside and move on to something that would save my neck some pain without sacrificing image quality.
